I've always considered this to be one of Ray most personal albums. Songs like Yes Sir, No Sir, Some Mothers Son, Young and Innocent Days could only be written by someone who been through a war, not fighting in it as is the view of most published pieces (book or movie) but from a kids view when someone is bombing the country he loves and working in his sisters Australian move (which also works into how personal it is) into it. Brilliant, uttlerly brilliant. And I love the jam band feel of Australia and Arthur

This might have been mentioned before , but I know that I received my copy of Arthur for free from Warner Brothers as part of a mail in promotion they did in the late 60's when The Kinks flower had faded in the US due mainly to their lack of touring and move towards heavier music from Jimi, The Who , Cream and Led Zep.
Arthur never took off but Victoria got some airplay. I love this album. -------------------- And when I come home you make it all worthwhile You make me laugh and you make me smile And after a hard day working on the files You make it all worthwhile
