Besides Andrea and myself there were ONLY 3 other people for Ray there at the taping on Conan yesterday, Wes and his wife and Jdy Cuervo who showed uo line shortyly after we did around 7AM.

I only got to speak with Ray very breifly however he did say to stop by and see him Monday earlier in the day because he would be out of town for the weeknd. Probably heading down to New Orleans since I didn't see his girlfriend with him and she is usually at these sort of things.

Taping? At 7AM? Where did I get the idea that it might've been 'live'?

He did well. It was good to see him again - even wearing glasses! I stayed up way past my bedtime to watch - and was rewarded with a different arrangement and (?) an extra verse (?)

Afterwards, he was fidgeting on Conan's couch, leading me to wonder what might have gone on in the studio during the commercial break.

The choir was a nice touch!

I thought none of those Late shows are ever live. They try to give the appearance of being live.

I thought it was a good performance. He came on at about 49 minutes into the show and sang for about 6 minutes.

I enjoyed the performance but was a little disappointed that he didn't get a brief interview or a better introduction. It should have been mentioned that the EP was for charity. Oh, well. He was in fine voice and it was great to see him. Lucky you to be at the taping, Frank.

The actual taping of the show was at 2PM. Normally it's around 5 or 5:30 PM, but because it was a Holiday they bumped it up a fewe hours. I got there at 7AM for stanby tickets just in case I did not see Ray on the way in. The last time he was on there he got me in. These tickets are given out months in advance so no one knows who they will be seeing on the show but there are usually day of show stanby tickets given out so fans of the guests and those who on the spur of the moment want to see the show can try to get in but it is a time consuming propostion with no guaranteed results. I would say 50 people had tried to get in yesterday on stanby and maybe 15-20 at most got in. Standby tiks were given out at 9AM that's whi I got there at 7 then you had to come back 1t 12:30 and wait until around 1:30 to find out if you were among the chosen few to get in. I missed Ray going in but had a very low # for stanby tickets so Andrea and me got, in and so did Judy Cuervo, and Wes and his wife.

The first time I heard Thanksgiving Day was at the Conan Taping with Ray doing it live right in front of me. My immediate reaction was it reminded me of " How do I get Close " plus another Ray song from the UK Jive, Think Visual era that I haven't put my finger on it yet.

I just picked up the CD today and will give it a listen to later and let you know more of my thoughts on it after I listened to it several times however there is no doubt I like it a lot!

I'm supposed to ( but who knows )meet with Ray on Monday afternoon so if I have or find out any thing of interest that's OK to spread around I will sometime next week.

Frank, I thought Conan was sold out ? What couch, man what did I miss ? Ray rocked. Nice touch with the scarfs and an obvious connection with Max Weinberg. In my opinion Ray seemed pleased with everyone performance.

I got back home from a Thanks Giving day to see Ray on Conan O,Brien show.
And I thought it was a lack lusters performance. He just went through the motions.
Voice was good & good to see him. But boring.
I also never saw the couch, our a connection with the house band.
The house band did it,s job, but it would have been nice to see his own band.
Very average. Sorry Ray !
Have a good one on Monday.

The show as all shows are sold out about 2 months in advance, on the day of the show there are first come first served stanby tickets to fill empty seats that were either reserved or because of no shows.

Ray did sit on the couch after he played but the show ran out of time, in fact I over heard the techs saying they went over. When I watched the airiing of the show on TV that night I noticed they cut out a comedy bit that did air in the studio during the taping.
