Can someone please tell me what “satin strides and two tone daisy roots” are? Also, what in the world is a “poof”?

I believe that "Strides" were a trendy sort of trousers at the time, and "daisy roots" were similarly trendy boots. Or so Jenny informed me when I asked this same Q a few months ago.
